Carol Noakes

Voice Ltd. founder and Director. Carol is a highly qualified voice and speaker coach, working with clients to develop executive presence, public speaking and personal impact on and off stage. Carol has a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Language, and an MA in Voice studies from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, London University. Before coaching became her passion, she was an actor in theatre, television and film, and a presenter in the corporate environment.

She has taught voice, text and acting at leading drama schools in London and Manchester, and her work with young professional actors in TV and theatre includes productions for Channel 4, the BBC, Granada Television, Contact Theatre and Manchester Royal Exchange. She is accredited in Transformational Coaching, Leading and Developing High Performance, Insights Discovery, NLP and Mindfulness-based Awareness coaching. She combines these approaches to work with teams and leaders on positive influencing and resilience.

Elliot Russo

Advanced Level Executive Coaching Diploma, Insights Accredited Practitioner


Elliot Russo spent 16 years as a professional actor, working with the BBC, repertory theatre, MTV, and the English Shakespeare Company. Elliot works with mid and senior management levels for organisations across many sectors, (including Saudi Aramco, PwC, Allianz, Google, British Airport Authority, Bosch, the Walt Disney Company, UBS, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Stella McCartney, the Ministry of Defence, Diageo and British Airways) as well as clients for delivery partners Duke Corporate Education, the London Business School (where he runs regular quarterly sessions) and the Said Business School Oxford.
As a writer Elliot specialises in creating simulations – immersive learning environments for teams of up to 150 people. He has written and directed simulations for Google, UBS, Prudential, Allianz and London Underground. His simulation work at London Underground was recognised when he won the Gold award for Blended E-learning at the 2015 E-Learning Awards, for a series of learning interventions for Transport for London.

Corinna Powelsland

Corinna trained at the Guildford School of Acting and has 33-years of experience working as an actress, performing in the West End, regional theatres, off-Broadway and on television and film. This is alongside her work as a qualified coach, roleplayer, leadership developer and facilitator; with 23 years of experience of working with individuals and groups across public, private and third-sector organisations.

She designs and delivers bespoke one-to-one and group leadership development programmes and is currently an associate with The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). She has also recently designed and delivered Team Development Workshops for The Brokerage, a London-based charity.

Willi Richards

Forum theatre • Voice coaching


Willi is a voice and communication specialist working in the fields of theatre, radio, corporate and political contexts. Willi has been an associate with Voice for the past five years. He has trained actors at RADA since 1993 and was the first Director and founder of RADA Business. He directs and writes radio drama and documentary programmes for the BBC and harnesses the skills of good listening, diagnosis, and a honed practice to create awareness and transformation for individuals and groups in the business or political environment. Designing and delivering leadership and communication programmes for the FCDO and Cabinet Office has been a strong feature of Willi’s work for two decades. He has worked for the United Nations and the British Council devising forum theatre education packages across the globe.

Debra Leigh

MA Voice (RCSSD), NLP Master Practitioner


Debra is a holistic voice and communication coach. She is a Master Practitioner of NLP and has conducted workshops on Presenting with Impact, Storytelling your Message, and Confident Communication. Her clientele includes actors, doctors, academics, journalists, politicians, lawyers, bankers, authors, artists, architects, and the clergy. Debra has worked with notable companies such as Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, De La Rue, EBRD, EY, the Foreign Office (FCO), Imperial College, Merrill Lynch, RNUAL Robert Walters, and UKDSC.

With 15 years of acting experience and a background in theatre, including both repertory and commercial work, Debra has also appeared in TV sitcoms. Her experience extends to broadcast work, as she spent two years as a live TV Continuity Announcer at the BBC. Debra continues to present regularly for live TV and serves as a brand ambassador for ‘Cozee Home,’ a lifestyle brand on the Homestyle division of QVC. Additionally, she has provided voice-overs for corporate clients, particularly enjoying working with dense technical scripts.

John Hoggarth

John is a trained actor and successful director who has also worked as a
tutor in the business sector for over twenty years. He is co-director of The
North Wall Arts Centre in Oxford and was Joint Artistic Director of the
National Youth Theatre of Great Britain from 2003 until 2008, delivering on
an ambitious expansion and growth strategy. His leadership experience
allows him to bring powerful lessons and relevant insight into his
consultancy work.

He has built a strong personal reputation as a facilitator and coach
where his intervention has helped his clients unlock their potential and
discover a more confident approach to successful communication. He
uses his experience from the world of theatre and television to help
individuals develop the key vocal and physical skills needed to enhance
personal impact, helping them to speak with clarity, purpose and
authority and communicate more effectively in both a business and social
environment. John has worked with a range of organisations, including
law and professional firms, blue chip companies, and public sector
organisations.

Robert Taylor

Media training


Robert is one of the UK’s most experienced and successful media and engagement trainers, specialising in all forms of interpersonal communication and messaging. For 20 years, he has trained country leaders, politicians, chief executives and chairs, directors, and managers. Robert has extensive experience of training delegates at central government departments, including the FCDO, DEXEU and the Department of International Trade. Delegates have included Ministers of State, some of whom have gone on to become Cabinet Ministers and Britain’s most senior ambassadors around the world.
