Voice Ltd use Insights personal development profiles and workshops for building effective teams out of disparate individuals with different personalities and motivations.
The Insights Discovery System is a powerful tool in helping team members understand themselves and each other, and in shortening the time taken for the team to begin to work together.
Insights personal development profiles explained.
Insights Discovery is based upon Carl Jung’s personality types. There are various profiling systems that use Jung’s psychological types as a basis for measuring personality. Some of you may have seen it in the guise of Myers Briggs(MBTI. With Insights personal development profiles it has been made more simple, memorable and easy to understand through the use of 4 colour energies.
At its simplest it identifies four groups or quadrants – in the Insights Discovery ® system they are called Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green and Cool Blue. All of us will have one of these ‘colour energies’ as our dominant, preferred style of thinking, working and interacting with others. The wheel at its most detailed gives us 72 different positions (see image at bottom of page).
The Insights Discovery® system encompasses a simple model.
What many people find is that Insights Discovery has a ‘simplexity’. That is it is very simple to learn and understand but it can be used in complex ways to understand organisations, improve teamwork and develop leaders.
Adapt to you to improve our relationship and my effectiveness.
Insights suggest that if we understand how we and others are likely to respond in a given situation, we can communicate with them in a way that allows everyone’s best qualities to be recognised and valued, ease any tension and reduce the likelihood of misunderstandings.
This is also important where different teams have to interact. Often problems between teams occur where there is a culture clash. Insights can help identify the different colour energy or culture of teams and for them to value and appreciate the differences. Ultimately this helps organisations to become much more effective.
At a time when any company is only as good as its people and their knowledge, if you can harness that mutual understanding across the business you have the basis for significant strategic advantage.
We often use it as an introduction to our Leading & Developing High Performance programme as it starts the process of people becoming more self aware and developing an attitude of positive regard for others.
We also use it when helping people develop their skill in public speaking and presentations. In order to connect with as many of the audience as possible using all 4 styles of communication means you will get your message across to more people and have a bigger impact.
